Description of INTEROP'97 Backbone
Bay Networks puts in place a fully switched backbone
based on the Accelar 100 , the first of our L3 switching product.
The backbone is a frame backbone based on 100 Meg Fast Ethernet
links. The 100 Meg switched ports to the desktop are served with
the BayStack 350 10/100 autosensing switches.
Each of the 7 racks is equipped with 2 Accelar 100
and 2 BS350. The NOC is concentrating all fibers into 2 Switch
Nodes. A single BLN/2 router provides connectivity to the Internet
Service Providers for an aggregate throughput of 8 + 8 Meg bps.
